I just turned on puter and I have a message saying this setting (600x480) wont work with my hardware,so I alter it to 800x600 and click apply, it then tells me this setting wont take effect till I reboot so I do, and Iam back at square one. W98se.

Anyone? pure layman language please

Howdy:

Right click anywhere in your desktop and select Properties.. Now, click on the "Settings" tab.. Now, click on "Advanced".. make sure the "Apply settings without restart" is checked.. Now, go back to the Settings.. Change your "resolution".. apply and okay out..

If that doesn't stick, you may have to re-install your video card drivers..
