Wii Mini set to confuse Canadian shoppers on December 7th
Quote:
The Wii Mini is essentially a Wii (not Wii U) pared down in price, size and features. It'll cost $99.99, is smaller than the regular Wii and it has no internet connectivity or Gamecube backwards compatibility.
Most people don't need the backwards compatibility. The PS3 did away with PS2 compatibility years ago. The Wii's Internet functionality is also pretty weak - it's not like it has a full browser - with one exception: the Wii can stream Netflix. I think losing that functionality is a big deal. An Xbox or PS3 that has fully multimedia capability is going to look a lot better than a game only Wii.

@tsarstepan,
We don't have a Wii, I can imagine getting this if we did.
We already have an Apple TV for the internet part of it (Netflix et al).
