Did a complete restore about a month ago and since then have not been able to download Flashplayer. All I see when I hit the 'install' box it takes me to a page where I see a little box with 3 little icons in it. (not a red X).

Got Shockwave dowloaded buy not Flash. Running Windows XP. 89% free space harddive. 256 memory. Any suggestions to try would be appreciated. Have tried with Firewall and Virus turned on and also off.

If anyone needs more information, just ask, as am not very computer knowledgable.

Using Internet Explorer 6. Used Restoration disc that came with computer and wipes computer clean. If you think that I need to un-install IE, tell me how to re-install it. But can't use the disc again, as it would delete everything.

Nutmeg,

Are you on dialup? If so, it can take up to 10 minutes to download Flash (even if they say it's only 1 minute at 56k).

What you describe is eactly what it looks like while it's waiting for the security prompt.

There are three icons in the upper left of each flash film.

Perhaps you just need to wait it out?

And as to uninstalling and reinstalling IE you can just download IE and install it.

Monger: That is the site and page that I have been going to

Craven; Yes am on dialup connection. Did the waiting game for 12 minutes. During the first minute, there was activity going on in the bar that is just above the start menu. Then it says "Done", but still the same little square with 3 icons is there. I do not get the security warning box visible.

In regard to re-installing IE 6 and Outlook Express: Will I lose my messages that are in folders with-in Outlook Ex? And will I lose my favorites?
Also do I have to modify the registery key by changing the value from 1 to 0 before actually installing IE and OEx? That scares me getting into the registry.
