how do you make the internet explorer window open up maximized when you click on a link or open up the program. I'm using Windows XP
In the upper right hand corner of the window you will see three symbols. A "_" a box and an "X". If you click on the box, the window will open to its maximum size. Or you can right click on the task bar icon and select "Maximize".
Is this what you mean?
1) Close all browser windows.
2) Open one browser window.
3) Maximize that window.
4) Close it.
Explorer window sizes are "remembered" but sometimes having other windows open prevents it from being remembered.
BTW, sometimes that will not remember the size for new windows you open through a link. So repeat that process but start by opening a new window from a link.
e.g
open one window
go to a page with a link and open a new window from the link
close the old window
maximize the new window
close it
I'm almost a computer illiterate, but some advice I once got with this problem was:
1)Drag page to full size
2)Press and hold "control"
3)Press "delete"
4)Press "restore"
It worked and when the problem recurred a few months later, it worked again.
Dragging sometimes makes the difference. Sometimes the maximize button doesn't get the size remembered.
