Recapture

Written at 7am this morning and inspired by a dream:

Recapture

Oh, there you are!
(not where you're supposed to be -in other hands)
but somehow loose and running free,
and you elude all those who seek to grasp you,
friends, sinister ones, (thus far) -and me;

Can you be you happy in that place?
...or is the landscape -filled with danger as it is-
a fearful jungle you survive in?

Your memory, entombed I thought,
was dust or mummified,
but now you're here, in front of me,
and fear, and love re-ignited, impel me,
and I would have you back.

I would recapture you.
