That was a long period of time. Virtually everything that has ever existed in the oceans existed across that span of prehistory (minus the recently evolved creatures of today of course).

@rosborne979,
only ltely are we even able to define the exact location of the Ocean that surrounded Pangea. Remember its all been sucked down into the mantle as subduction occured. A smal marginal area called the Tethyian Sea has some bit of a fossil record but Youd be correct to wonder what actually lived there in Panthalassa, we just dont know.
