Will tablets replace laptop computers?

I don't see why tablets would replace laptops any time in the future. Unless miraculously somehow tablets managed somehow to replace traditional keyboards with a more efficient typing. Sure the touch screen can ease some usage like web browsing but that's pretty much only the benefit I see to me. I prefer the touchpad/use mice and a keyboard. It's way more efficient.

I don't think so. All of these devices are computers, but they have different priorities. Productivity is considered the domain of desktops and some laptops, while tablets are used as consumption devices.

No tablets can not replace laptop computers. As both of them have there significant role. Tablet is good to show presentation or video chat etc.. But to make laptop one need laptop or PC. tablet is not good enough to make such heavy projects.

I used to think that they will. But years after being in the industries like programming and design, I can say that it will happen only if tablets will get the power of laptops and the flexibility of software that can be installed.

Yes i think tablets can replace with laptops because tablets can be used just like laptop by using keyboard docks. It is more more portable than laptops.

Not totally as tablets are not that great for some things like typing up that 5 thousand word essay for university or for many copmanies where lots of word processing is done. Then there is gamers which want full size computers as well. Also tablets tend to have lower specs than full size computers.

No,I don't think that tablets can replace PC or laptop.Tablets are much more compact and cannot offer the same amount of processing power that we are getting from laptop or PC.

Will tablets (or better yet, phablets) run the things that MOST consumers use computers for? Things like surfing the web and checking email?

If most consumers forgo laptops in favor of phablets, there will be a lot fewer people buying laptops.
