Device wont show up on my computer?

Hello Friends,

I've got a hard drive with a heap of school assignments on it. I plugged it in the first time and it worked fine - but now it doesn't! It shows up in the device management section, but next to it is a little yellow warning sign thing. It shows up there, but not in 'My computer' so i can't acess it! I followed Windows device troubleshoot instructions that told me to install some SES device, so i did that. Everything is exactly the same except there is no little warning sign next to the device anymore. But it still wont show up in My computer! down the bottom it has the whole safely remove hardware and eject media thing going but i still can't access it! I've tried everything!
Any suggestion?

Can you try it on a different machine (preferably one with a different OS, say a Mac versus a PC) and see if you continue to have this problem? Start by eliminating as many variables as possible.

How does the hard drive plug in? USB? Firewire?
Which version of Windows are you using?

Try another USB device to see if it's a USB problem
Try connecting the drive to another computer to see if it's a drive problem.

Based on your installing the SES driver, I would guess it's a driver problem.
Disconnect the drive. Remove the SES software. Reconnect the drive and let windows reinstall the driver.
