How does the hard drive plug in? USB? Firewire?
Which version of Windows are you using?
Try another USB device to see if it's a USB problem
Try connecting the drive to another computer to see if it's a drive problem.
Based on your installing the SES driver, I would guess it's a driver problem.
Disconnect the drive. Remove the SES software. Reconnect the drive and let windows reinstall the driver.
