Hello friends,
Palm trees, warmth, and sandy beaches. That's the reason many people call Florida home. However, there's a darker side to the Sunshine State, which includes regular hurricanes, flooding and sink-hole. Many insurance companies decided to no longer do business covering properties in Florida, and home-owners have fewer choices when it comes to insuring their dwellings. In Florida, home-owners policies do not cover flood damage and residents must buy separate policies to insure against floods.
Thanks and Regards

I live in Florida. We didn’t have to buy a second policy.

Flood insurance is covered by a federal program, not by regular home-owners policies. This is the case everywhere in the United States.
