When I reload a "page,", for instance "My Topics," does that also reload the rest, "My Posts," "New Topics," etc

Thanks fellas

@dalehileman,
No. You're simply refreshing that single webpage in which you are presently on when you hit the reload/refresh button.

When you are in My Topics, you see links to My Posts, New Topics, etc at the top of the page. When you refresh (or "reload" as you put it) the page, you will see the latest version of that page (My Topics). The others are just links. If you click on one of them you will be taken to the latest version . This will happen whether or not you refresh the page you are currently on.

Why do you think you need to reboot?

@contrex,
I'm not sure but I think his browser might be having a possible caching problem where when he hits the other links (My Posts, New Posts, etc...) the pages aren't refreshed every single time.

Just guessing because if that's not the case then the reboot thing is a tad red herringish.

Thanks Con but this seems to contradict what Tsar had asserted

There are ways (mouse or keyboard) of overriding cached versions, either local ones or further down the line at your ISP, but without knowing which operating system and browser is being used, it's hard to give any dependable pointers.

Typically, across platforms, Windows, Mac, Linux, just clicking the Refresh icon in a browser or pressing the F5 key performs a simple refresh, but if you want to override caching, you can hold down the Shift or Ctrl key while clicking Refresh or else hold down the Ctrl key (Cmd on a Mac) and press F5.

Pretty comprehensive guide here:

I presume that's the little circular with arrowhead at one end

Mine doesn't

That gives me a new editing (or "reply") window and incidentally deletes the one I had been working in so that I have to start over

Incidentally what's caching
Yes too lazy to go OneLook

That gives me voiceover

Every time you click on a link for "My Tags" or "New Topic" or whatever, it loads the most recent copy of that page (unless there is something wrong with your computer/browser).

What makes you think that you are NOT getting a fresh copy whenever you click on one of those?

Or Google? Or the Wikipedia page I gave you a link to? As an erstwhile writer, you should be bright enough to understand it...
