I have a G4 with a 21" studio monitor. My monitor suddenly displayed horizontal lines then the screen shrunk to about 5 inches wide. Now it does not come on at all. I have reset pram and tried every other trick I can think of.
Is this maybe a card problem (video/graphics card) rather than monitor problem?
Any thoughts from anyone?
Monitors are for computer users with short memories.
Hi, you may be able to search in the following:

(The apple discussion pages may not open easily in the saturday evening/night, probably owing to maintenance or something.)
Thanks...
Been there, done that. I find the Apple forum a bit disappointing. Doesn't seem to have any Apple support monitoring it unless you put your question in the wrong category. Did that, too.
One suggestion was to boot up and make a change in a certain window... how the heck do you do that if you have no monitor?
Guess it's time to load the hard drive into the car, drive into the city and see what I can find out.
Thanks for responding.
If you could not find a good answer in Apple Dicsussion, then you can contact Apple (800-APL-CARE in the U.S.) or your local Apple Authorized Service Provider to schedule a repair.
