I don't think you should launder your dirty linen in public.

@eurocelticyankee,
You need to slow down on those corners! Love the tap marks. Is that a front or rear drive?

But....how about them knickers?

@dlowan,
When Mr. Bocker left his Bavarian homeland and emigrated to New York, they really weren't made of linen. That only became fashionable after his son Diedrich was knicknamed (sic! that's the original spelling in 16hundred-something) Diedrich Knickerbocker.

In Bavaria, they look now the very same as they looked in 1600:

@dlowan,
I see where you tried to go. Whatever they are, they are usually called the Knicks.

The Knicks play basketball, not base-u-ball. They are the team in New Yawk, hence the name Knickerbockers.

I still think you shouldn't launder your linen in pubic.

No one ever refers to the Knick as the Bockers although, given their miserable play, we all should.

Then people could say "Those goddamned motherbockers lost again."

@dlowan,
You sure?

Someone once wrote an article about meeting strangers, or something. One low class option was to walk into a group and say "Hey, how about them Cowboys?", which is a football team. You heard that a lot for a half year or more, before it started sounding kind of lame. Everybody jumping into a discussion they knew nothing about. I thought you were trying the same, with a different team of somethingorother.

Hey, bunny. You're talking about my home team, basketball-wise. Knicks (not Knickers, as others have graciously pointed out). What can I tell about the team? Most of the members are tall.

@Setanta,
But I wear cotton on the inside. My linen is reserved for the outside. Therefore, should I undertake such an odd thing as doing my laundry in public, my linen would be entirely respectable.
