@JPB,
Thanks, we’ll be fine here.

I wonder if they allow Puerto Ricans at Red Woofs? LOL.

According to the news it will be a tropical storm in our area. It’s hitting Ft. Lauderdale now.

@jcboy,
Everybody makes such a big deal out of these events. People go out surfing/bodyboarding in weather events like this all the time, though it is a little dumb in that the chop often doesn't make for great waves.

But that guy got a pretty epic ride, did he not?

@JTT,
Yeah he did, and I agree, it wasn't the smartest thing he should do in a storm like that one!

@ehBeth,
Agreed - Pacco and I stayed in an end unit and walks were easy (and so was unloading the crate).

@ossobuco,
I never should have had that rum Mad

So far nothing here yet but some very light rain, it will come later tonight but we are ready.

The tortoises will be in the garage, I have a large plastic bin to keep them in.

We were lucky with this one, totally bypassing us tonight. Just a little rain and wind.

If anything, Tropical Storm Issac forced us to clean out the gutters, trim the trees from the roof and get our hurricane kit together.

Those are all good things to take care of and get out of the way.

And it reminds me that I've got to buy a few more battery operated lanterns so I'll be better prepared for any future power loss.

Glad the storm bypassed you guys.

I only have ten gallons of gas for the generator, not sure how long that will last, I've never used it before.

Don't leave the gasoline in the generator over the winter. You have to drain out all the gas AND let it run dry at the end of the season....if your gas is sitting for more than a month or two, you have to put an additive in it to keep water out....

Also, at the beginning of the season next year do some preventative maintenance and make sure it runs by putting in some gas and trying to start it. The day before the storm hits is not the day to find out your generator won't start as is happening to a couple of my NOLA peeps.
