Some people were playing bingo. They used only 10 numbered balls. They had cards with 3 different numbers on them.
A boy had all three numbers right in the first three draws. What was de chance of this happening?
LL
No that's not right. Remember, after each ball draw there's one less ball to pick from, and also one less number on the card.

That's the 10*9*8 part.
But that's what I get for typing before coffee...
I'm going to think this through. I've taken classes etc. But it's been years...
In the mean time, 'fes up! This is your homework isn't it?
Sealpoet why have you put 10*9*8 to the power of 3, surely thats not necessary, i think you only need a tenth*a ninth*an eighth to make 1/720.
Would like to know your thinking on that one.
Ooops, hang on.
maybe its 6/720 which makes it 1/120.
mis read the question. I thought he won in the first three draws, three times in a row.
3/10 * 2/9 * 1/8 = 6/720 = 1/120
times the number of boys playing... if you don't specfiy which boy wins.
Fraser and sealPoet:
3/10 * 2/9 * 1/8 = 6/720 = 1/120 is correct.
