Computer question about processor?

Hello all,

I have a HP Proliant ML150 G6 server. I believe it has the E5504 Intel Xeon processor. Is this processor faster, slower or equivalent to i7 920?

Thanks in advance,
Steven

@Steven Arnold,
Did some digging for ya. I hope you find this helpful. Looking at this, I would go with the i7, I have one in my work laptop and this thing kicks ass. Make sure it is compatible with the MB before you swap it out. The new cpu might not fit the socket.

@Steven Arnold,
Benchmarks show it as being slower than the 920

With the Xeon you are getting ECC memory which makes for a more stable system as it works to avoid memory errors.
