I am 16 years old male and i tried long jumping for the first time about a week ago and i developed an interest in it. I was able to jump 5.5m (18ft) and i was able to get 2.4m(7.9ft) on the standing long jump. I have recieved no previous training but intend to soon start. I was wondering if i had the potential to become pro with the proper training?

@Alberth99,
I believe everyone has the potential to become anything they want to be. If that’s your passion go for it!

@jcboy,
May I modify that a bit? Thanks.

Barring physical handicap, everyone can become better at anything physical with time, determination, and a good trainer. Real professional athletes seem to have certain genetic traits, that the rest of us are born without.
