Hey guys;
While working on my computer, and all of a sudden, I get an error message saying:

svchost.exe
this program has performed an error and will be closed
you need to restart the program

an error log has been created

and then after I click ok, it would be impossible for me to cut and paste, drag icons, or even disconnect from the internet! ..plus many other things like viewing MPEG files.
What the heck is wrong? and what can I do about it?

Please help

P.S: I use Windows 2000

In the first place, you should do a virus check.

Sounds like you've got the Blaster Worm. Go to NAI's STINGER website. Read and understand the instructions, then download and run it.

You think so?? Although I have the Norton 2003 antivirus and it is up-to-date! I made a system scan the other day and nothing was detected.

The microsoft link gave me exact information for my problem, but I still have a different situation: they're saying that I should have location1 and location2 in my regedit..whereas I only have location1...
ill try to ask them for feedback

It could be that this exploits is being performed without the virus. Either way it's a problem you should immediately address.
