Janie Price
A BIG HELLO TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS: FINALLY! ! RAY AND I ARE HOME!! Ray was released from the hospital just in time for us to celebrate Thanksgiving Day at home. I lost track of time and it is all just a blurred memory of days turning into nights and back again. The only thing that I can tell you with great pleasure is that my Dear Husband is alive and has survived the vicious attack of the Sepsis Infection that just about took his life! He remains very weak and his recovery will be slow. Doctors told me that 6 weeks is a general rule of thumb for regaining strength from battling Sepsis. I have a great team of Health Care Providers with Ray here at home. His every need is taken care of by these caring professionals. In the comfort of our own home we both have finally gotten our rest. I have to thank each of you for your continuing prayers and messages of hope. We have read them all. Only someone who has been where we were can appreciate the true meaning of how expressions of love and support can carry you through just one more day! And sometimes just one more day can make the difference between finding the strength to fight back or just giving up and letting someone go. This Is Why Thanksgiving Day Was A True Blessing To Us. A special day we will always remember. Our family and a few close friends with us to celebrate our Homecoming. Thank You Dear Friends, Thank You!! Respectively, Janie Price

Dear Friends.

My Dad is very sick. He is in the East Texas Medical Center At Tyler, Texas. He has been in intensive care. He was admitted on Monday. I got to visit for a brief moment on the 22 of November at the ranch. I was invited back by my Father the next day but the gate was locked. My Dad is in final stages of pancreatic cancer and the general opinion is that he will not be going home. When I saw him the cancer seemed to have taken his strength away. Its very sad that Cancer is going to take his life and that there is no cure.
God Bless everyone for their prayers.

Clifton Ray Price (son)
It was previously reported that Price's cancer was under control but that he was choosing not to go forward with surgery that would place him in a nursing home. The singer first confirmed that he had the disease on November 6, 2012 and said he had been receiving chemotherapy for the last six months.

Phil Everly had a big influence on this suburban teen. When I heard this album I knew next to nothing about American folk music.

I have a few Everly records. One is an import from Britain, I think. The vinyl is bright orange. It is a collection of their best known songs, issued before they recorded Wings of a Bird (not sure if that's the exact title). I always looked for their songs in those days and still consider them great artists.

@edgarblythe,
I had to think back in my childhood and I recall one specific song (amongst many others) that I really liked of theirs. My older brother was a big Everly Brothers fan...making hundreds of reel-to-reel recordings, etc. At that young age, I shared a room with him.

I think perhaps this is the song you might mean:

IMHO, this song would be a hit today...It just doesn't sound dated at all.

Good call Rags....

A great Paul McCartney penned song and an indication that the Bros never stood still

An update on Randy Travis, from Diane Diekman's blog...

"Bob Everhart provided a report on Randy Travis, saying “he is still recuperating from his stroke. He is paralyzed on the right side, he cannot walk, and can barely speak. His daily medical care continues with a nurse that visits every day as well as having long-term caretakers that take care of his daily needs. He has to wear a helmet to prevent the chance of brain injury and is still confined to bed or wheelchair.”
