I have a big problem!!! I'm in a spelling bee, and I'm looking up pronounciations for the some of the words on the list, and since I don't have the big unabridged dictionary, I go online to see what the definitions and stuff are for the words. The thing is, some words are too good for us regular folk, and you have to be a premium member to access some of the words. So, does anybody know where I could get an unabridged online dictionary for free, and does anybody know the pronounciation for the word avgolemono. Thanx!

Never heard of it, but (and I think this may be relevant) the word is "pronunciation," not "pronounciation."

Unless it's a pronoun.

You tried Dictionary.com, right?

I know of no free unabridged distionary online (and I probably would know if it existed).

onelook.com is a search engine that searches most of the important free dictionaries online.

ävgolem(schwa)no - the o's are long - the primary stress is on the 3rd syllable.

yes, i did try www.dictionary.com, and it doesn't have all the words i'm looking for. Most of the words I'm looking for at m-w.com are in the unabridged part, and that's for premium members

did you try looking for stuff on encyclopedia.com? i think they will have the pronounciation on there... if not then just look on google for free sites...did you try that?

and if none of those work, then just but the stupid dictionary. ( it will probably save you more money than paying for online dictionarys!)
