Does anyone agree with my definition of unconditional love?

Is it too simple to say that big-hearted people have the capacity for unconditional love, but small-hearted people only have the capacity for conditional love? I know I am using colloquial phraseology, but within those contexts, is my thought correct to you?

@Foofie,
Somehow I never view the idea of unconditional love as being somehow superior to love that had sensible conditions on it.

A woman who is beaten constantly by her lover but still love him is a fool for example in my eyes because of her unconditional love.

To me love is and should be a mutual thing between people and never completely unconditional.

@Foofie,
I'm not a big believer in unconditional love either. That's just an ideal. No matter how much you love someone, there are always things they can do that can kill that love.

People who manage to stay together for a lifetime do so because, in addition to basic compatability, they have cultivated values like patience, tolerance, commitment, and forgiveness...not some overly-romantic concept of "unconditional love."

Real love is hard.

@Foofie,
I think I have to disagree (but I'm going to think on it some).

Big hearted people can still be ignorant to the suffering of others.

Small hearted people can still love something or someone unconditionally.

I think you would have to include some context regarding the scope of their unconditional love.

@Foofie,
From my observations on life, there are only two beings that give pure unconditional love: infants and dogs.

@Foofie,
Small minded people have the capacity for unconditional love.

@Foofie,
As far as I'm concerned, the only "true love" is unconditional love.

Conditional love, in my opinion, is equal to enveloping one's heart in a semi-permeable condom..
