You eat me, you drink me, describe me who can
For I'm sometimes a woman and sometimes a man
L.
That's a good one! I can't figure it out! How about this one.
Early in the morning.
Late at night,
Two dead men,
Got up to fight,
They pulled out a knife,
And shot each other,
Then a blind police officer,
Came to arrest one another.
Kerry, I don't think thats a riddle, it started life as childrens folk poetry. This is the full version.
One fine day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys* got up to fight, [*or men]
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other,
One was blind and the other couldn't, see
So they chose a dummy for a referee.
A blind man went to see fair play,
A dumb man went to shout "hooray!"
A paralysed donkey passing by,
Kicked the blind man in the eye,
Knocked him through a nine inch wall,
Into a dry ditch and drowned them all,
A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And came to arrest the two dead boys,
If you don't believe this story's true,
Ask the blind man he saw it too!

I cant help thinking the answer to this is grapes
you can eat grapes
you can drink wine
france and italy are big wine producers whose languages contain masculine/feminine words.
problem is I cant expand upon this theory cos I dont speak either language
Am I on the right track Laura, or miles away?
I think you are right Kev. Grape vines reproduce sexually. There are male flowers and female flowers.
The answer is not grapes. I will spoil this one =>Toast<=. Do you think this fits the riddle?
LL
Hi Laura. Tell me please how you hid the "toast" ?????
Regards - marts
=>toast<=.
Ah, I used magic. Just kidding. I looked in the style sheet to find the standard background color they use here.
Then if you are replying on a tekst that has a gray background, you
give the part you want to hide the color code for blue-ish background.
To enter the color code just set the font color on red or so, and then replace red with #cedcec
Here are the two colors used.
gray #eaedf4
blue-ish #cedcec

Ciao ciao - Marts
I don't see how toast fits the second line. Could you explain?
Well, you see, the part of wheat which is ground to make flour which is used to make toast, contains both the female and male reproductive parts of the plant.
Hmmm, OK. So could someone tell me why grapes is not an answer then.
