@Ragman,
Move the satellite dish around?
I would rather talk about electric brakes on diesel trucks because I know nothing about electric brakes on diesel trucks but even less about satellite dish remotes and what they are capable of doing.

Dishes are not allowed on our building in the New York.

@Joe Nation,
Oh yes Mary, in case nobody has mentioned it, the dish does get misaligned or dirty

@Joe Nation,
FWIW, the Satellite dish stays fixed in place. All the remote does is just operate as a channel changer and programs choices and does data entry functions.

Um.
We don't even know what the remote control controls, Dale.

Or how many batteries it has.

We haven't heard back from Mary.

Here's is the Original Post.
Our remote is VERY slow. I changed the batteries but that did not help.

It could control:
a CD Player
a garage door
an audio system attached to a TV.
car door locks or trunk lid
a VCR
the electric brakes on a diesel truck. Very Happy

We don't know.

I'm waiting for Mary to return.

Point well taken Joe. However in my own defense some of the immediately preceding posts were discussing tv remotes

Where have you been this past decade. I have an electric fan that came with a remote. Why, I don't know. I tossed it.

@roger,
Hell, I used to sell the damned things and I forgot about fan remotes.

I think everybody takes the fan home, puts it together, uses the remote once to turn it on and then up and down the three speeds then never uses it again because it is sitting under a stack of magazines.

Dale: That was the FIRST post of the thread, there were none preceding it.

Give it a rest.

@roger,
If that electric fan is placed in a bedroom, it sure would be nice to not have to get out of bed.

@roger,
Don’t blame you Roger, we get too many remotes, they get lost too easily, they all have different expensive button batteries not always available and which Radio Shack doesn’t even test upon sale, it’s appalling

@Ragman,
Yeah, I know, Ragman.
But, six months after they buy, they come looking for a new remote because they can't find the old one.
I tell them to move the bedside table nearest the bride's side of the bed away from the wall and look between the headboard and the wall.

Yea Joe, though confused at 81 and with incipient Alz’s I realize there were none preceding Mary's. Of course I meant immediately before our discussion
