No. A cow is female, a bull is male. A steer is a male without a few bits. You can milk, cows, sheep, goats, camels, yaks, buffalo, and I believe horses too, but only the females.

I have 3 girls.

Agnes, Lil bit, and Chaka Khan...

I lost my camera to computer cord. there are 250 pictures waiting in the camera. many of them are goats.

I will come up with a solution soon...

Have you ever seen a male dog that was fixed? The dangly bits are removed from bulls to make them more docile, just like dogs. And of course to stop them from breeding.
Yaks are not only weird looking, they make an awful tasting butter that is the pride of the mongols.

Nope, I'm a city girl, born and raised. I have family and friends who have or still live on farms and I spent a lot of time visiting and learning all about it. Both my parent were raised on farms in Ireland, so I know a bit a sheep. I've been around a lot of cows, horses and goats though.

my 26 baby chickens arrive this week...

and I might get one cow. mebbe. not this year for sure.

I'm a hobby rancher.

the best thing about goats is that when they get out and go on walkabout (they do this regularly), they prefer elm leaves to elephant ears and other delicate flowery things..

I have a large supply of rogue elm.

I toss a few branches in for dessert. after their regular feed.

I kinda spoil them.

after 3 weeks they are almost not afraid of me. they associate me with the food bucket.

and I rescued lil bit from her encounter with a chicken cage...

I'm going to build them a hill using your kugeldunker thing. they love to get up onto anything tall.

Thats awesome! None of my friends or family have farms. I want one but only cool animals like horses and pigs and bulls and stuff. No chickens and stuff.
