@jimmy555,
That love is un-conditional.

That the most smallest things amuse the mind.

That, nothing matters, there are no worries in a child's world.. A child makes you realise that .

That I was never cut out to be a parent. And a good thing, as I am not a parent.

That adults really don't know much about how language works but many think they do.

That if you ask "Why?" to every answer, you will eventually arrive at a question you can't answer.

By the way, almost everything boils down to Physics, Philosophy or Genetics. I suspect that if I were religious it would all boil down to magic (god works in mysterious ways), but since I'm not, it ends up in the top three. So I guess answering enough "Why's" tells you something about yourself as well.

To always, always keep your sense of wonder.

That joy can come from the smallest, simplest thing.

That love is real.

@jimmy555,
Not sure if it is a lesson - but I think the most shocking thing was - realizing what you do without knowing it - young kids copy what you do.

I remember seeing my daughter as a toddler talking to her stuffed animals with her finger wagging and shaking at them - never realized before that I had been doing that.

My husband got a rude awakening - my daughter said "stupid" or some other word. And my husband said she got that from your father. Then not five minutes later - a car cut him off and guess what word he yelled at him - yep "stupid".
