It's crush time!

Whose avatar makes your heart go pitter-patter? Whose posts give you the chills? Whose sig line makes you want to faint?

As always, this is for fun - no real strings attached (unless, of course, you want 'em). So fess up! Who do you love on A2K??!!!

"Love Fool" by the Cardigans

Quote:
Dear, I fear we're facing a problem
you love me no longer, I know
and maybe there is nothing
that I can do to make you do
Mama tells me I shouldn't bother
that I ought to stick to another man
a man that surely deserves me
but I think you do!

So I cry, I pray and I beg

Love me love me
say that you love me
fool me fool me
go on and fool me
love me love me
pretend that you love me
leave me leave me
just say that you need me
Love me love me
say that you love me
leave me leave me
just say that you need me
I can't care 'bout anything but you...

Lately I have desperately pondered,
spent my nights awake and I wonder
what I could do have done in another way
to make you stay
Reason will not lead to solution
I will end up lost in confusion
I don't care if you really care
as long as you don't go

Happy Valentines Day all-

Hi jespah, I just love reading edgarblythe, because of his talent-
and his diversity. ( a real nice guy for sure).

I also like to read blatham and Pdiddie. They are bright and super intelligent.

Can't say I have a 'crush' on anyone. I just love people.

Happy Valentines' Day to you, too! Of course I have a crush on a certain someone (hint: my husband posts on A2K :-D).

But for fun crushes - oh man, lots of 'em. I think I love all of the guys in the Sports forum. Then again, that may mean I love Slappy. Shocked

Here's another ditty for today:

George Thorogood's "Who Do You Love":

Quote:
I walked forty-seven miles of barbed wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie
A brand new house on the road side, and it's a-made out of rattlesnake hide
Got a band new chimney put on top, and it's a-made out of human skull
Come on take a little walk with me baby, and tell me who do you love?
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

Around the town I use a rattlesnake whip, take it easy baby don't you give me no lip
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

I've got a tombstone hand and a graveyard mind, I'm just twenty-two and I don't mind dying
Who do you love?
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

Now Arlene took a-me by my hand, she said "Lonesome George you don't understand,
who do you love?"
The night were dark and the sky were blue, down the alleyway a house wagon flew
Hit a bump and somebody screamed, you should've heard what I'd seen
Who do you love?
Who do you love?
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

Yeah, I've got a tombstone hand in a graveyard mine, just twenty-two baby I don't mind dying
Snake skin shoes baby put them on your feet, got the goodtime music and the Bo Diddley beat
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

I walked forty-seven miles of barbed wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie
A brand new house on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide
Got a band new chimney put on top, and it's made out of human skull
Come on take a little walk with me child, tell me who do you love?
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

Elvis-Presley's Lyrics - Love Me Tender Lyrics
(words & music by vera matson - elvis presley)
Love me tender,
Love me sweet,
Never let me go.
You have made my life complete,
And I love you so.

Love me tender,
Love me true,
All my dreams fulfilled.
For my darlin' I love you,
And I always will.

Love me tender,
Love me long,
Take me to your heart.
For it's there that I belong,
And we'll never part.

Love me tender,
Love me dear,
Tell me you are mine.
I'll be yours through all the years,
Till the end of time.

(when at last my dreams come true
Darling this I know
Happiness will follow you
Everywhere you go).

I sang love fool for a talent show once.

In the middle of the song, the lights went off. I kept singing. Then the sound cut out.

Let's just say, I can take a hint. *sniff*

I have to admit; I'm a pretty closed minded individual on some subjects. I've never had a homosexual thought in my life… That is… until I saw that pic of Gus. Shocked Something about that metro sexual hat and overalls combination just calls out my name. Where are you Gus? Get over here and…
Well, since I can't find him, here's a Valentine's day song in his honor.

Are you looking for some answers,
while you've come to the wrong place
You might find lines but no Valentines,
written all over my face
I bear no grudge I wear no frown;
I just come with callused hands
And I don't mean to bring you down
but there is no romance.
I've spent too much of my life waiting,
hoping, dreaming, wishing, believing
And way to little of it living,
smashing it up and taking and giving
I wish someone had warned me
while I was still a young man
And saved me lots of time and money…
There is no romance
Save your stories for the bartender,
and your crying for the theatre
And your poems and your diary pages
to kill some time in your old age
There may be gods who hear your prayers
and honest men who, men who care
And young lovers who say they will wait forever;
Lives that look like movies and books
But the sooner that you learn this…
The sooner you free your hands.
To get on with things that really matter…
There is no romance.

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((GUS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Extra points to anyone who knows who sings this song!

Bill, I have just locked myself into my tool shed. I have my shotgun loaded, axe sharpened, and the tines of my pitchfork have been honed to razor-sharp instruments of destruction.

I'm drinking whiskey and staring at the handle on the door. If that handle moves, just one friggin' inch, and I hear your voice on the other side... I'm lettin' you have it with both barrels!

You hear me, Bill?

Something like -

Oh Gus, you make my heart beat fast -
The hat, the fork, the pretty ducks...
I swear my love for you will last..
At least until the time we

plucks.

Maybe Bill can use something from my Shakespeare Sonnet a Day subscription (i'm not getting much benefit from it)

LXXVI.

Why is my verse so barren of new pride,
So far from variation or quick change?
Why with the time do I not glance aside
To new-found methods and to compounds strange?
Why write I still all one, ever the same,
And keep invention in a noted weed,
That every word doth almost tell my name,
Showing their birth and where they did proceed?
O, know, sweet love, I always write of you,
And you and love are still my argument;
So all my best is dressing old words new,
Spending again what is already spent:
For as the sun is daily new and old,
So is my love still telling what is told.

Golly. Gus seems a lil ornery. Maybe it's the use of the word "metrosexual". Either that or his hat's a lil tight.

Still, hmmm, back to the topic -

perhaps a little more music will improve the mood, The Supremes' (or Phil Collins's) "You Can't Hurry Love"

Quote:
I need love, love
Ooh, ease my mind
And I need to find time
Someone to call mine;

My mama said
You can’t hurry love
No, you’ll just have to wait
She said love don’t come easy
But it’s a game of give and take
You can’t hurry love
No, you’ll just have to wait
Just trust in a good time
No matter how long it takes

How many heartaches must I stand
Before I find the love to let me live again
Right now the only thing that keeps me hanging on
When I feel my strength, ooh, it’s almost gone

I remember mama said
You can’t hurry love
No you’ll just have to wait
She said love don’t come easy
It’s a game of give and take
How long must I wait
How muck more must I take
Before loneliness
Will cause my heart, heart to break

No, I cant bear to live my life alone
I grow impatient for a love to call my own
But when I feel that i, I can’t go on
Well these precious words keep me hanging on

I remember mama said
You can’t hurry love
No, you’ll just have to wait
She said love don’t come easy
Well, it’s a game of give and take
You can’t hurry love
No, you’ll just have to wait
Just trust in a good time
No matter how long it takes, now break!

Now love, love don’t come easy
But I keep on waiting
Anticipating for that soft voice
To talk to me at night
For some tender arms
Hold me tight
I keep waiting
Ooh, till that day
But it ain’t easy (love don’t come easy)
No, you know it ain’t easy

My mama said
You can’t hurry love
No, you’ll just have to wait
She said love don’t come easy
It’s a game of give and take...

PS Occom - you seem to have kind of a Joachim Phoenix look goin' now. I think the cheesehead kinda obscured that before. Hmmm.
