I am not convinced a clone would be mistreated by his/her classmates.

Maybe, maybe not. But if the clone was mistreated, it would be vicious.
No more so than other humans.
The first test tube babies were not mistreated that I know of. I see a parallell in them.
True, but was it common knowledge that they were test tube babies?
Why does it have to be so different with clones? If the same care is taken with them that was taken with the test tubers, after a while the world will be blase` about it all anyway.
Most likely....But what about the clones own internal problems?
"I have no parents!"
"I'm a freak!"
The same might be said of test tube babies, but they are well. I think sensationalism and ignorance (not speaking of you in either case) has instilled an unwarrented Frankenstein element into the story of cloning.
Maybe....If and when it happens we will see how it goes. Then and only then will we know who is right on this one.
Right you are. I hope all will go well, but, it remains to be seen.
I too hope things go well...
Good talkin at ya. Maybe one day we can revisit the topic from "the other side."

I remember the news of the first test tube baby - Louise Brown - her birth was worldwide news. I'm certain everyone in the community she lived in knew who she was. I think she's around 25 years old now.
The only people I've ever heard being critical of test tube baby technology were right-to-lifers (worthless scum sucking slime that they are) and catholic clergy. I read one priest describe the technology as "panderiing to the emotional appeals of childless couples", like they were children who need humouring. I'm sure if these bastards could get into these childrens heads they would pursue a course of inflicting as much psychological damage as they possibly could. I despise them so much.
