renting and trying to figure out how i can set myself apart from the competition (other potential tenants) out there?

@noahs,
I'm not a landlord but I hear the more money you can put down the better. You can do a great deal to help your cause if you can plop down more then 3 or 4 months rent as a deposit.

A good job, history of paying rent on time, and being more or less quiet helped me - landlord never raised the rent over seven years - I was a known and provided no hassle.
