More of a whimper than a grimace from me tonight: I return to work tomorrow. Just when I was getting used to be a free woman! So no more A2King till 3 am (like last night, when it was too humid to sleep.) Now I have to be sensible. Drats!!!
Ah well .... at least it's not full time.
That's something, I suppose?
<sigh>

ah, msolga. Woman's work is never done.

I am absolutely beside myself because I keep getting big fat unnecessary phone books. They are stacked up knee high on my kitchen floor. What is with these people? Waste-waste-waste. Rolling Eyes

Yes, InTraNsiTiOn, I hadn't heard it for ages, either. It just sprung out at me from nowhere & surprised me! Laughing

Letty

I'm trying to work out what you you can do with all those directories. Put them out into your recycle bin for collection, I guess? Yep, a waste!

How about using them as party gifts?

Laughing Well, intra, I could give them to my friends who have children that need to sit on them to reach their plates.

You WANT snow? Well, maybe on the ski slopes, but where else would you want it?

I want snow here. On my lawn. In the neighbourhood. Down at the lake.

EVERYWHERE.

I want snow!!! and sensible winter temperatures. This right-around-freezing idiocy is really annoying me. Let's have some good -15 temps.

I want it to stop raining for 12 seconds so I can pull my mail out of the box and burn all of my bills to stay warm...works with phonebooks as well, letty.

I'm with ehBeth on the snow thing.

We've had a few dustings that melted by noon. As of now, I am liking the 50-degree days and sun (sun!), but then as I examine the buds on the lilac I say waidaminit! It's January!!!

I still dunno what's normal for Ohio, though -- just, my internal weather settings are still Minnesotan, and that means snow in January. Lots.

No ****, right? Unfortunately I cannot go get any right now, since my car is south of Boston right now.

However, I found a ride, littlek. So you do not have to drive me.

I'm having a very difficult time getting out of bed.

At the playground today, there was a harried mom who had a little girl (about 3) and an older boy (about 6). The boy wanted to play for a while, the girl was tired and whiny and wanted to go home. She begged her mom for a while to no avail, and then made a break for it -- not sure if she was attempting to get to the car, away from her mom, or all the way home. The mom chased her down and brought her back. Happened again. Chase, return. Happened again. Mom, tight-lipped and furious, grabbed the screeching girl and put her in the car and locked all the doors, then went back to the playground.

The girl sobbed disconsolately for a while. I tried to figure out whether it was severe enough to intervene. I thought it might be a time-out, usually one minute per year, so maybe it wouldn't be long. 3 minutes passed. 5. 7. Girl wasn't crying as much, just looked heartbroken. Sunny cold day -- tried to gauge danger. At 10 minutes, I decided I was ready to say something, mom saw something in my look and the set of my shoulders and went and got her daughter.

Whole thing left me feeling yucky. I think the kid's OK. Hate those in-between scenarios -- I'd jump in at the drop of the hat if I thought it was unambiguous, would stay out if it is just typical hard day (I've had plenty), but this was right on the line...
