You should shave some of that fur.

Actually, I feel your pain, too. Texas summers are murderous (literally, for elderly folks w/o the means to afford air conditioning). Haven't hit 108 in a couple of years, though.

Whoops, I got that wrong! Just checked this morning's paper: it was 42.9! (Did you noticed that .9, Ms Rabbit? Not that I'm being at all competitive, mind! Razz ) Anyways, it wasn't nice out there yesterday. At all! This afternoon it's been raining, the cicadas are singing, things smell fresh & clean again & I'm starting to feel fraction less zonked. Very Happy

no pictures of deb shaved are known to exist, she did however have here fur made into this lovely scarf, so she can keep warm on cool nights and evenings, she's so resourceful

It may be winter here in Texas, but it's currently 89 in my apartment. I can't stand to be here long, and hopefully, I can get the a/c fixed tomorrow.

(I don't expect much sympathy from those who are currently experiencing actual winter.)

89 sounds beastly, actually.

Hope it gets fixed soon!

grrrr. I left my cat's ridiculously expensive insulin on the cape this morning when I left to come home. And, I didn't realize it until just now.

Even with A/C, our summer electric bill doesn't approach that.

How big of a place are you heating?

Gas is WAY more expensive than electricity. We're planning to start using a portable radiator (electric) in the family room (where we spend most of our time) for that reason.

Right now I'm sitting here with my winter coat on to keep the gas bill down. Sigh.

Sympathy, eoe.

We're using portables too. Hubby in his office, me in mine. And we move them around.
We heard that the heating bills were going to get pretty ugly this winter but we didn't expect anything like this.
