That's some amazing job you have there, dag. Never a boring moment! That's good!
A shame about the tiredness, though.
Is freezing here. Literally; some puddles on the street turned into ice.
I'll be moaning about how cold it is for the next four months.

Already, nimh? What's it going to be like when the real winter sets in?

Brrrrr, shudder, brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Plenty of ways to keep warm
Yeah, no, doesnt look like it. (Theres another reason to grit my teeth)
It really is cold today!!! Bought myself 2 large coffees, hope that helps. Good thing my work day today is only a couple of hours, and then home. Just drop a design, collect, and return home. I hope I don't turn into an icicle. burrrrrr
am sitting in lovely amsterdam, or schiphol rather. weather is bad, only one runway open and it seems i won't get out today. it's 3pm. flight tomorrow. maybe. it's bloody cold and raining cats and dogs. i'm now have to gonna join a queue of angry tired people for a few hours and then they will tell me when i can fly out. bloody great.
i got close to no sleep two nights in a row, but right now i'm reasonable calm. if only the chairs here were more comfortable. if only it was at least nice enough to go walk around amsterdam... but i don't even have a change of clothing (baggage checked in...) and it's lousy lousy lousy outside . tfooooey!
From Schiphol's website:
Quote:Delays and cancellations expected
Stormy weather is causing severe disruption to air traffic to and from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Flight delays and cancellations are expected to occur throughout the day. Passengers and people meeting passengers at the airport are advised to consult teletekst or to contact their airline or travel agent.
I can understand your mood, Dagmar!
Got a terrible headache, and runny nose. Thank you day after Thanksgiving for the cold thats coming on. *sigh*
Any chance you can get a voucher for meals and a hotel?
Some years ago we were delayed due to bad weather and after asking we were brought to a hotel.
Grrr-
There are quite a few flights going out, though. (And you MUST get a voucher etc due to EU-law!!!)
nope. nada. i asked and got a coupon for five euros. ha. haha. i'm not pushy enough, i guess, but she said many people are stranded and it's not the company's fault. it's "winter" as she said. my flight leaves tomorrow at 1pm, it's 4:30pm now... i briefly flirted with the idea of just lingering around (it's nasty outside anyway and i know amsterdam quite well). but am too tired and need to sleep. last night i went to bed at 5am, night before at 5:30am , slept maybe 5 hours total between the two nights... i'll pay one million dollars if that's how much a hotel is around here.
hey, any ideas for what i should do this evening? haha, now i'm getting excited! i'll start a new thread. YAY!
Bad tday....... sister left in a huff. We all got emails today. Sigh.
THE sister?
I am so on your team..
I dunno if I can even say which team I'm on. But, I called her moves before they happened. Every step of the way.
But thanks for the vote of confidence, osso.
walter, can you tell me more about this EU law? Am at the airport again, might as well battle it out if possible. unplanned stay at a hotel is quite a dent in a wallet of this student.
technically it's not the company's fault though - the weather was horrid and hundreds got stranded...
