The doc's taking care of you on Sunday?

actually i don't have a doctor, it's the local emergency
they had me come in today so they could monitor it and they want on more look
it's gruesome, no nail and 2 or three stitches in the nail bed, but no knuckle damage just the tip of the bone was crushed according to the xrays

we had 5 days in a row of cloudy damp rainy weather, yesterday the sun came out bright and shiny like New Mexico usually is. This morning I woke to solid cloud cover and drizzle/rain. I'm in such a mood I loaded the rifle and put it beside the front door.

Bone... crushed?
What happens with that, long-term?
Shorter thumb, reconstruction...?
(You are remarkably sanguine about this, dj... er, so to speak.)

doc said the fragment may knit back together or not, it's not a big deal
it's not really all that painful, unless i smack it into someting, and the nurse who changed the dressing this morning said the fact that i had good pain response means probably no nerve damage
the big question is the nail and how (or if) it will grow back, but doc seemed pretty sure it would be fine

Oh, djjd! What a nasty episode!
Now THAT would have scared the living daylights out of you, yes?
So you're off work for a bit, most likely. Just be careful, OK, even at home!

Hi there Olga! Just seeing your merry face cheers me up on this dull misty morning!
It's too early in the day for anything to have made me personally grimace, but the news of the rescue helicopter in Pakistan going down was something to mourn.

Good morning, Clare!
It's always a delight for me to see you here, too!
You know, I've been gadding about with a good friend for most of the day (a beautiful, sunny spring day) & this is the first I've heard of this. I need to find out what's actually happened. Off to the ABC ... right now.
