I just found out I have to get up at 6am tomorrow.

Anyone who knows me realizes how traumatic that will be.

@chai2,
I understand perfectly. I just had to do that two days in a row. The second day was a little easier.

3.45 am the kookaburras wake us up. Then the cockatoos. My gal manages to get back to sleep, but I often get up and get into the day.

@roger,
It's about 1:30am. I won't even begin to be sleeepy for another hour or 2. Why I thought it could go to bed at 12:30 am and go to sleep is beyond me.

Damn, 6am should be outlawed on penalty of death.

If the world ends I hope it happens between 5 and 6am because I'll just sleep through it.

@Builder,
Ha! Actually the sounds of nature of even workmen don't bother me. I get that they are just doing their thing. But sounds that can be avoided, like music or the TV, oh man.

@chai2,
Finally! We have found something upon which we can completely agree. Generally, in these cases, I am able to fall asleep about 30 minutes before getting up time. This has its own hazards.

@chai2,
The sounds of our "nature" are about the level of a banshee. The kookaburras are just the intro. Here's the sulphur-crested cockatoos.

Then the black cockatoos, which are haunting, but just as loud.

@roger,
I had my semi-annual teeth cleaning today, I not only grimmaced, but tears were coming out during the cleaning. I hate it!

@Region Philbis,
Probably 5 or more years ago I bought an immersion blender from Walgreens for $9.99.

It's really handy.

We couldn't find one of the 2 parts, so I went to Bed Bath & Beyond.

$99.00!!! What the?

Went to Target and got their cheapest one for $29.99.

It's actually too powerful.

Walgreens got rid of most of their kitchen stuff.

@Region Philbis,
looks like a grenade. I used to buy a men's cologne that had a lavender smell in there nd they quit making it , We found an Indiqn lqdy who whips up the concoctions based on what she can find on the net. She made one up for me that was better than the Gucci I used to get.
ALL mens colognes nowady smell like toilet bowl disinfectant, or cheap scented candles. Most of em make me puke.

How come you can ship lithium ferrous phosphate batteries into the country, but customs won't let you ship them out again? Spent half the day custom-making plywood boxes and lining them with foam, to get the big NOPE at the same post office that delivered them. Grrrrrrrr, etc.

@farmerman,
Today Sarah Huckeberry Sanders chided US Representative John Lewis for not being deferential enough to the heroes of the Civil Rights Movement. Further she complains it's unfortunate that some members of Congress will not join the President (DID YOU HEAR THAT...NOT JOINING THE PRESIDENT) in honoring the incredible sacrifices Civil Rights leaders made (et al). I can't bear to repeat the rest of it.

That's why I picked them for our off-grid solar. Turns out I'll get the refund, and have to "destroy" the batteries. Just thinking how that might play out.

I've seen some videos of the Chinese trying to get one to catch on fire. No dice. Lots of smoke, and I reckon you could get the case to burn.
