@OmSigDAVID,
True, but I would like her to have the option to be able come inside & sleep warmly on a chilly autumn night.
That often happens when her owner is home.
It can't happen when her owner isn't home.
I'll just do my best in the circumstances.

There are no squirrels in Mimi's neighborhood.
I have never seen a squirrel in my life! : )

Mimi?
No, no raccoons here, either.

Last summer, at around 4 AM, I used to see a family of racoons
walking along the top of the western fence of my property.
That is semi-weird: I live in a suburb of New York City.

@OmSigDAVID,
So that was something of a "sighting", a very unusual event?

It is now just after 9 pm.
I am about to jump into my car & head off again.
Cross your fingers that Ms Mimi is home this time!

@msolga,
No. I saw them go that route on several occasions,
and come back again, at about that time of the A.M.

Give my regards to Mimi.

Tell her that I saw the play about her in Washington
and on Broadway. Be careful, if the Austrailians drive on the rong side of the street.

@OmSigDAVID,
Thanks!

It is now raining cats & dogs here, too!
She'd better be home!

I rather like the idea of my yard being visited by a family of raccoons in the wee small hours! Smile

@msolga,
A few summers ago,
I was in my back yard enjoying the fresh air at around 1O PM,
when someone stepped on my left foot. On looking down,
I saw that he was a RACOON. He looked up at me
and continued on his way. Then he stopped about
8 feet away, turned around and he looked at me (again).

@msolga,
msolga, one of our neighbours was feeding another's cat while they were away for a few days. It was an indoor cat but whenever they went into the house they never saw it (food was disappearing though). One day as they were leaving a cat was twining around their ankles on the doorstep. They had a panicked moment thinking they had almost locked the cat outside, chucked it indoors and locked up. Next day there were TWO identical looking tabbies waiting at the door. What to do? Very Happy

@Tai Chi,
Very Happy
Wonderful story, Tai!
Gave me a really good laugh.

I have just returned home. (10:40 pm)
The good news is Mimi finally turned up.
Hooray & phew!
She gobbled up her food, presented herself for an under the chin scritch, chatted to me for a bit ...... then vanished! Just like that!
Was she grateful that I'd made the second trip today?
Absolutely not!
But she'd better be there when I turn up tomorrow, that's all I can say!!

@Izzie,
Oh, Iz!
Everything's busted! Shocked
Aw you poor thing!
Not fair, not fair!
I hope you have a nest egg tucked away somewhere so you can afford all the repairs.

Speaking of your black cat, this afternoon I was admiring the two photographs you posted of your darlings on the cat thread.
Are they beautiful or what? Smile
I do hope black cat turns up very soon.
He's done this before, hasn't he?
Little devil he is!

@msolga,
Hello MzOlga

Yep, he hasn't wandered off for a while so I'm missing him desperately at the moment - we keep asking Murphy to go find his brother and are going out all the time to call for him - I'm so used to him cuddling up beside me in the evenings, he always has to be touching Sad He has done this many times, last summer especially, as I was travelling away every weekend, and he always strolled in on his return, calling out and stayed very close to home after - so, hopefully he'll just stroll on in now that I've written this.

He is such a MaMa's boy - talks to me all the time cat-talk - gosh, miss him bigtime.
