Ah geez Brooke that sounds like a tough schedule; don't be too hard on yourself. (You get the summer off, right? Except for working, I guess.) I'd be crying too if I had to face the end of a school year and holding down a job too. (Actually I did have a little cry tonight -- finally allowed the overwhelmingness* of my life to get to me! Maybe it's just something in the air Confused )

I've been working like a fiend on my usual stuff but also, my aunts' 75th birthday invitation and program. Her daughters (and I) are throwing a big whoo for her in Houston next weekend and I designed a full color 2-sided, four panel invite and an 8 page program/booklet along the lines of a fashion mag.

Working with a printer I've been doing business with for years, we chose to go digital to reduce the price. We're only printing 100 copies of each but I've seen digital before and altho' it's not as crisp as offset printing, it's not bad.

It's a long story but the invites became a major rush job and then there was a screw up at the printer and I never saw the finished invite before they were sent to Houston and mailed out. I received mine in the mail today and I wasn't happy. A couple of the shots are washed out and, after working so hard on this, that just broke my heart.

I've talked to the printer and he's giving me a song and dance sort of but I've made it clear that this booklet had better look at least as good as the ink jet printouts that I'm producing in my office.

Altho I'm gritting my teeth, I spoke with my cousin last night who told me that the invite has been getting many accolades and it would be smart to bring business cards to the party. And that's a good thing but...

I watched a kid have projectile vomiting IN the lunch room today WHILE I was eating. Lovely.

This year the powers-that-be decided to not take off the day for Good Friday. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other. But, it mattered to many of the school staff. I'm guessing somewhere around half of the staff will be taking the day off. They can't put a cap on absent teachers because it's a religious holiday. So, the principal asked parents to volunteer. We will be going insane tomorrow.

Kinda gives a whole new meanin' to Good Friday, huh, Lil'K?

My sympathies, as ownership will be present all day here, and stressed as well.

Oh, THAT spring you mean. We had had it some time ago. This weekend we'll the most snow in the total season in the nearby mountains ... but at least, the daffodils here at us were blooming for quite some time.

Snow in the mountains -- OK. They can make money from it.
Snow in my town -- not so good.

I want to move from being a nanny to my niece and nephew to being an aunt. I want to see them. I want to babysit them. But my G.D. sister always makes things so much more difficult than they need to be! <grummblegrummble>
