Is there a difference between being 'proud' and being 'impressed'?

Any thoughts? Also, what's the difference between 'justice' and 'revenge'?

Maybe I should elaborate my question(s) a bit further. What's the difference between saying you want to make someone 'proud' from trying to 'impress' them?

@JPLosman0711,
"Proud" can be too yourself. IE: "I'm proud of myself", and is an emotion. (Pride). Impressed (and impressionability) is merely how easy it is to make amazed on what someone has done. So, there's not much a difference, but there is a difference.
Justice is usually done through legal proceedures.
Revenge is usually done through hatred, and rage.

@JPLosman0711,

A good, big dictionary will help you here.

A father, say, could be proud without necessarily being impressed. But usually, I would say, they go together.

You could take a pride in your own work without necessarily being impressed. They are different things. That's why I suggest using the dictionary, if you want to go into meanings.

So you don't think you can also be 'impressed' with yourself just as easily? The feeling of being 'impressed' is not an emotion?

So what is it about a 'legal procedure' that would validate or automatically excuse them of the 'hatred/rage' label?

@McTag,
Well thanks but I'm not looking for dictionary definitions here, I'm looking for personal definitions/thoughts from others.

@JPLosman0711,

There is a learned member on this forum who will tell you that words mean whatever you want them to mean.

I don't think that, personally.
