My Akoo (5 lb Maltese) was being groomed at a very know grooming store, when one of the groomers whom was shaving him cut off one of his duke paws!! WT?? : (( Inwhich the situation was told in a whole different way, explaing that he just received a nick on the leg for moving around. 30 mins later I received a phone call from a vet stating my Akoo needs surgery??? WT?? from a nick on the leg to a duke paw hanging off his paw, big difference. Do anyone know a good Animal lawyer or can I get some direction on how I can get justice for Akoo??

@claing41,
You would need to tell us where you live so that people may be able to recommend an attorney.

@claing41,
Are you referring to one of the dog's dew claws?

@claing41,
I'm going to make a bet and say that your best bet is to take the groomer to small claims court and to try and recover only enough money to cover the vet's bills. I don't expect you should be getting a win fall of money from any kind of settlement. And like it's been said a few posts above this one, you really need to give us a basic idea of where you live as this is an international website where we have members from the US and Canada, the Great Britain, and Australia and New Zealand, amongst other places. Each region will have their own sets of rules and legal resources at your disposal.

@claing41,
did you talk with the store owner/manager directly? I would imagine that the would pay - without you having to go to court. Wouldn't be too good for their reputation otherwise. Probably throw in free grooming for life (although I wouldn't suggest using the service or your sweet pets life might be a bit shorter).

You are such a cynic. A kindred spirit, in other words.
