Ahhhh, Il Fornaio used to sell those, as Involtini de Mele. Be still my heart - at the heart of the apple was some sort of almond paste..

Well, I do wash, but I use borax.

It's a glycerine soap that some a2ker really likes.. maybe or maybe not Chai.
But the peel makes it a scrub..

In the roach department.

Ah. I've been using the packaged 20 mule team borax (I forget the name of the product, and I don't want to unwrap the box to check). Saw my first cockroach of the season yesterday. It's been a long time since the last one. They chill my soul.
Had them in my first so called apartment, a tack on place to a duplex (the one with the playboy bunny of the year next door), and moved because of the roaches, forty years ago.

To explain, I don't think I can keep them out of my house without a kitchen re-do, undersink cabinet mess, and I can't do that now. Lately I've been winning in the As-Is war.

Back to apples.
Or, oranges.

I use sugar, cornmeal and just a little boric acid, mixed and set as bait. If you get just the right mix it exterminates the roaches totally. They eat it up fast.

I use 20 mule team whatsit, sugar, and cocoa.
