Can i upgrade my graphic card?

I have a packard bell ixtreme i6525uk and i want to upgrade the graphic card from a nvidia gt420 to a nvidia gt550 ti. I know i will also need to upgrade the power supply but i still dont know if i can or if it will fit.

Most of the newer graphic cards use the PCI-e slot so you will want to check that your motherboard supports pci-e. I just checked the spec's on this card. It is PCI-E 2.0 x16 and is a duel slot card, your current card is a single slot . Make sure you physically have enough room on the board before you purchase. Most places will not take the card back unless they charge a % for a restocking fee.
