There were four sisters ran a race
And each did strive to mend their pace
Not one the other could o'ertake
Although they strove great haste to make
I do not know the solution yet. It is not seasons.

Seconds/Hours/Days/(Weeks/months/years}??
Days/Months/weeks/years?
Good answer Fealola, I like it a lot.
Sorry, but that's not the answer.

O.K. Laura check out:
Alcyone, Merope, Maia, and Electra
If this is right I'll be surprised but I've had a wee bit of dewars so anything goes.
Nope, sorry. Perhaps thinking of that great novel of M. Cervantes will make you think in the right direction.

If you dont know the answer Laura why would thinking of a novel by Cervantes give me a clue?
The only thing I could come up with is Eiar, Theros, Kheimon and Phthinoporon.
*shrugs*

Because I know the answer now.

Forget Cervantes; try Monika Beisner:
There dwell four sisters near this town,
In looks alike and like in gown.
Round and round in a ring they run,
Chasing each other just for fun.
But even though they gather pace,
between them there is equal space.
THat will do the trick too.
