What has two eyes and lives in one?
Seeing as how the question was 'what' and not 'who', I would suggest that 'pupil' might be a better answer than 'Iris'..
But pupil doesn't have two i's.
Where the heck do you get 'pupil'? 'Iris' isn't a 'who', it's a 'what', a part of the eye, and it fits the riddle. Nuff said.
