You have forgotten the corpus callosum (sp!!!!) which unites the two halves of the brain!

In fact, we are, generally, in our right AND left brains simultaneously.

yes dlowan - that is true, but why are
some of us less artisticly inclined than
others, is it developmental or just being
more left brained than right brained, as
we are more left or right handed?Or am
I totally out of the concept here? DO
right brained or left brained
persons have a tendency to be more
gifted artistically.

You know, it's been shown that when surgeons removed the right side of the brain, the left side took over some of the tasks of the right side. The brain is an amazing thing, except mine started with empty. It had no place to go, so it ended up in my heart. c.i.

Animals, I've read, are right-hemisphere dominant -- as in, animals are almost exclusively left-"handed." Which makes sense, since most analytical and computational functions seem to be centered in the left brain. It's all very complicated, though, and every layman's article I read on the subject is soon forgotten. Probably lots of stuff in the archives at http://www.discover.com if you're inclined to look.

Apparently this corpus callosum is unique in female, male and gay people. Apparently gay people have a middle ground that gives them intuitivity on both halves of the spectrum.
