I don't, and I don't think the world will end in 2012 either.

Why would they expire my driver license in 2014, if the world is to end before that?

We have to wait all the way to Dec 2012 (another year) before this boring old prediction comes to an end? Damn, I was hoping we would be done with it when we make it through tomorrow without "ending".

No it won't.

But I do predict one thing, 2012 will be the year of the doomsayers. The panic caused by the doomsayers at the end of 1999, y2k and all that, and the recent rapture nuts will pale into insignificance in the face of the onslaught we're going to get this year.

I blame Michel de Nostredame, a.k.a., Nostradamus. He knew, 450 years ago, that not only would human credulity and just plain stupidity not have been improved by centuries of human intellectual progress, but, if anything, would have worsened. I have a vision of him sitting at his desk at night, in the flickering candle-light, chuckling to himself . . .

Nostradamus was deliberately ambiguous, and as such people didn't realise Nostradamas 'predicted' something until after the event, Hister/Hitler is a classic example. 2012 has more to do with the Mayans long count, the end of the days for the men of corn, the last men.

People can make analogies with the current leadership in Iran, North Korea, and some of the Republican presidential candidates to paint doomsday scenarios, but at the end of the day if the supervolcano underneath Yellowstone park goes off there won't be many survivors anywhere.

Actually they are predicting the world is going to end on December 21,2012 not December 22, 2012. No I don't believe the world is coming to an end on the 21st of December 2012.

Having spent a night and a day at Chichen Itza, the resurrected ruins of the great Mayan city, back in 1995, I think I may say with some authority that the world actually ended some 500 years ago. Anything that may or may not happen in Dec., 2012 is bound to be an anti-climax.

I was on the turnpike for the last month. But youre ducking the issue. Ill bet you a cheese steak against a super sweet pineapple that the world ends but not on Dec 21 2012
