My question is regarding rights for use of a photo.
A friend of mine did me the favor of lending me a camera to take some pictures that would be used for posters and flyers and promotional materials for my husband's music performances and upcoming album. We told her that this would be the purpose of the photos and so we needed a camera capable of taking high quality photos. She agreed to lend us the camera. When we went to pick up the camera, I was unable to take the photos myself and she volunteered to take them for me. She took about 9 photos of my husband in public places.
She gave me the memory card of the photos and expressed no interest in the photos. She recently sent me a request saying she no longer wished for any of the photos to be used and that she wanted them removed from the internet and and all propaganda. We said we would remove the photos that were in our control to remove however, we could not control the photos that were already in circulation.
My question is Does she have the right to do this. She is not a photographer and does not make a living taking photos. She was not contracted or hired to take the pictures. It was done as a favor as I was indisposed and not available to shoot the pictures myself. She was advised of what they were for and did not ask for any compensation or notifications regarding the use of the photos.
Thanks for your advice.

I wonder why she thinks she has such "ownership" of these photos?
Was her name used in any way? If not, ignore her.
If her name or professional reputation is attached to any of these, then delete them.
PS Are these photos controversial? Why the brouhaha over them?
@PUNKEY,
I don't know. I tried to put myself in the situation and see if I would act the same way. I would never do that to someone. If I do an unconditional favor, it means that I don't come back in the future requesting privileges for something that I did a friend as a favor. It defeats the purpose of it being defined as a favor and from someone that calls you a friend.
I guess she keeps track of every photo she takes of every friend she has ever taken pictures of. I have some old ones from when we were kids…perhaps I can claim usage rights on those too? LOL. It's fine. I guess it's a lesson learned. Everyone I ask agrees that no friend would act this way.
