I've volunteered to bake for the school's bake sale. The sale is offered in conjunction with the holiday home tour and since everyone wants to tour homes in my neighborhood it gets quite a crowd. The bake sale is a fund raiser for Mo's class and it allows them to do some really cool, fun things if they raise enough money.
I want to make things that are a little different... a little lavish. So far I've made mocha shortbread and a pumpkin/cheesecake marble bread that I'm sort of famous for. I'm thinking of making some little streusel type coffee cakes too.
But I'd really like to make something that would knock their socks off. Maybe something not sweet. Maybe something with cheese.....
Not mini-quiche (I have a hard time with pie dough). Not stuffed croissants (I can't make croissants, ditto brioche). I'm not opposed to using frozen or otherwise prepared dough, though, if I can fancy it up enough.
Any ideas?
Oh cupcakes! But I’ve never made them before, my husband is the baker in this house
Those cake pops look like they'd be a huge hit!
Those cake pops are darling!
There are a lot of people baking for the sale and so far everything is sweets though, that's why I want to go for something non-sweet.
Cheese twists might be good, or pretzels.... I still have that excellent pretzel bread recipe that CJane gave me a while back, maybe I should make those.....
@boomerang,
How about a couple of Mrs. Lovett's meat pies?
