Is this one of the latest inventions of mankind?.. If it is.... Perhaps like a lot of his inventions.... It's unworkable?... It only works sometimes?.... It
doesn't work everywhere? It only works where it's not needed... Or is there another definition?.

Of course there is. By different world views and perspectives, there emerge distinctive definitions of almost everything. 'Human rights' is no exception. The best for some people may be the worst for others. It depends on how you look at things.

I suppose if you consider Plato and a few earlier philosophers into "latest" it could be.
