Why do you suppose Jesus never condemned slavery?

Only in your sick mind, Spendius. I thought I explained that to you.

It is not baby talk. I am trying to help you grow up...and not fear women and sex. Trying to help you, Spendius.

What does Weiner have to do with why Jesus never condemned slavery????

Maybe he did but none of the apostles thought to memorialize it in the New Scripture for posterity. He probably wasn't a big fan of pedophilia either. It's also possible that he realized if he attempted to define every single destructive behavior, there would be an avalanche of creative ways manufactured to find loop holes to claim exemption from his teachings.

We all know somebody who takes more than their fair share from transactions. That's why we have "buyer beware" signs. Has anyone ever been in charge of planning a group activity where you make arrangements for the group and some folks just 'forget to pay". I'm not suggesting these things are on the same level as slavery, but it sure as hell is inconsiderate. Too many folks think they are special and the rules just don't apply to them.

Glitterbug...Jesus worshiped a god who told him clearly that there was nothing wrong with slavery...that owning and selling slaves and keeping them slaves forever was completely moral and righteous.

My GUESS is he never ever considered slavery to be wrong...and never considered condemning it.

If he HAD CONDEMNED it, my question would be: Since his god told him there is nothing wrong or immoral about slavery, why would he condemn it?

@Frank Apisa,
And if he did condemn slavery and nobody bothered to record that he did...why did they not bother?

(This scenario has been considered...and that question asked...several times already in this thread.)

You have said many times that you don't guess.

Why do you suppose you have asked this stupid question?

For sure I fear women. Why don't you? Have you got one on a halter?

Not with my definition of sex I won't. Your definition will be just the completion of a circle of complacent self-indulgence.

The idea that women welcome being mauled, groped and poked by blokes of our age is ridiculous. I knew when to quit.

You're hung up on your virility. Is it Viagra fueled?

As I said--you're taking advantage of Terms of Service. Hiding behind the skirts of Sunday school teachers.

You're a bully.

Do you think that this explains coherently what you stated below?

Yes I do. I never met one insistent non-believer, and I have met a lot, whose sexual behaviour was not condemned by the Church.

Name a prominent insistent non-believer whose sexual behaviour was approved by the Church.

Read Sigmund Freud's Christian Unconscious by Prof. Vitz. This bus queue theology is pathetic.

@spendius,
Apisa says you're harmless girls. Nothing to worry about. All that stuff in literature about your being dangerous is a load of twaddle. Apisa says so.

I defy you to find even once where I said I do not guess. I defy you.

I do not guess when there is not a reasonable basis for a guess...but I often make guesses when there is a basis.

Because I wanted to know what other individuals suppose about why Jesus never condemned slavery. I thought that was obvious.

Why have you contributed so often to a thread you consider stupid?

No need to. I enjoy their company and companionship. I pity people like you who fear them?

Nope. "In a halter"...yes.

Since your fist is such an important component of sex for you, I can understand that. They must terrify you.

Sounds as though you never started. In any case, I do not maul, grope, or poke women. You must be a sicko if you do.

I am not hung up on anything. My virility is not discussed except when you start one of these fruity discussions of yours. I've never even seen a Viagra pill.

@Frank Apisa,
Sorry Frank, I didn't read the entire thread. The question just kept showing up when I logged in and I finally caved.

I usually avoid the religion posts because people seem to get so hostile. My bedrock position is "if I'm not a believer, please don't try to convince me otherwise and if I am a believer, please don't ask me to justify my belief system". In other words, I should have called in sick.

Actually, I agree with you in most respects.

Here on the Internet, discussions of this sort are fun and interesting...so we engage.

I have met some pretty sick people in my life but when a customer told me about one of his employees I have a hard time getting it out of my mind.

Customer says that his employee called in sick and the customer told the employee that he did not sound sick and wanted to know what was so important that he could not make it to work.
The employee replied that he was ******* his sister. Shocked the customer replied that he was a sick son of a bitch and the employee replied that he told him he was sick. Rolling Eyes

What slavery was there in the world Jesus lived in? You keep going on about Jesus not condemning slavery and you have offered no evidence that there was any.
