Compatibility problem

When I am trying to run my application in ie8 it is not displaying some buttons but those are getting displayed in ie7 and ie8 compatibility mode so that what I have to add to code to get display of those buttons in ie8. The style sheet name we use is ie7.css.

I have tried by adding meta tag and tried with * and !import
