A professional baseball player once hit and caught his own home run ball where and to whom did this happen
While playing right field for the Brooklyn dodgers Dixie Walker hit a ball into a ChainLink fence which was above the short right field wall [297Ft.}.the ball stuck in the fence and was ruled in play. Dixie was awarded a home run. After the inning was over Dixie took up his position in rightfield looked up to see the ball still stuck in the fence. He threw his glove at it and knocked it out and caught it. Fact or fiction? I'm not sure but it's a nice story
