@nixbone,
doo dad, doo hicky, thingamajig - they work for all North Americans. I wonder if they work for Aussies, Brits, Irish, Kiwis, etc.

@JTT,
don't forget "whatchamacallits" - that's pretty big in my house. Especially as we get older.

Speaking of older, funny story about my late former MIL - she'd start off telling us about a movie she'd just seen - took forever because it goes like this:

"I saw a movie the other day that you'd really like and it starred that blond guy. Forget his name but he was in another movie and he starred with the tall, flashy red-haired lady. You know... the one that had the tv show with uh... oh, what's his name?! You know the guy, he was in prison for a while, and nobody thought he'd work again but he did. I don't know what he's doing right now but I saw him on a talk show - you know, the one that's on in the morning with an old guy - Rebis or something - and a younger really skinny lady... not the one that was on there before but a new one... never saw her before so don't know why she's famous..."

@stuntpickle,
I work for a cigarette production facility, and in-house we call it "Tear-Tape"
