Meet the "Yomobile" ( Ё Мобиль ).

This is the first really big innovation in cars in many decades. Granted it appears to violate one or more of Angellab's patents, I assume that will get fixed rather easily. The new car appears to have massive financial backing and the full blessing of the Russian state.

Major new ideas in the United States are usually viewed as disruptive technology and allowed to simply sit there and rot until they die but, every once in a while, a new idea is so good that some foreign power picks it up and does something with it with sufficiently serious intentions as to force us to compete with the ugly-duckling idea. This appears to be such a case.

@gungasnake,
I think it looks a lot like the Yugo.

@gungasnake,
What innovations does this car actually hold? High gas mileage? Low or no emissions? Really fast 0-60 MPH or 1/4 mile times? Or is it simply ubercheap to manafacture?

@tsarstepan,
Two main innovations, i.e. a super engine which generates electricity and then electric motors on the wheels. That eliminates the most major weak link in all modern cars i.e. the transmission.

The motor is either the same or strongly related to the Angellabs/Morgado engine which is best of breed for the last two decades worth of efforts in the direction of a better IC engine. In particular, power density is far beyond today's car engines so that an Angellabs engine for a Honda Accord would probably be about the size of a volleyball or maybe a bit smaller than that while an Angellabs engine for an 18-wheeler would weigh around 150 lbs.

There is a major reduction in weight and also the gain from not using power to operate cams or move valves against springs since the thing is basically an advanced 2-stroke with none of the old 2-stroke problems.
